Company Information
APS PRESS is the publishing imprint of The American Phytopathological Society, a non-profit, international organization that advances the science and practice of plant health management in agricultural, urban, and forest settings. The Society was founded in 1908 and has grown from 130 charter members to more than 5000 scientists and practitioners worldwide.
APS PRESS has published more than 250 titles that cover the spectrum of plant disease and related topics. Beyond traditional books and field guides, APS PRESS publishes multi-media products including CDs, digital images, and digital videos.
With the variety of plant health subjects covered, APS PRESS publications serve people with interests in many different subjects and affiliations with a variety of disciplines, some of which include: educators, students, plant scientists, extension specialists, crop consultants, county agents, growers, master gardeners, horticulture specialists, nursery and landscape industry, greenhouses, forestry specialists, plant pathologists, mycologists, nematologists, virologists, entomologists, weed scientists, plant molecular biologists, agricultural historians, among others.

Orders
Prices are calculated in U.S. dollars.
All titles on this site are in stock, with the exception of titles in the Out of Print category, and some new titles. New titles that are not yet in stock are available to order and will have an approximate ship date posted on their page.
After an order is placed, an order confirmation will be sent immediately via e-mail. Credit cards will be charged within a few days of placing an order, occasionally longer depending on the volume of orders received. When an order is placed for a new title that is not yet in stock, the credit card will be charged at the time the order is placed, and the title will be automatically shipped during the month it is received at headquarters.
On-line Ordering Process: The ability to order on-line is made possible through Yahoo! Store technology. Orders are retrieved on-line by APS PRESS associates. No credit card information is sent via e-mail, and for added security Yahoo! will delete all credit card numbers after 30 days.
Yahoo! assures security for all orders placed on-line. However, if you are not comfortable sending credit card orders on-line, please order by phone, fax, e-mail, or mail. Your order will be handled with the same prompt service as orders placed on-line.
Traditional Orders: Pre-payment is required on all orders.
Orders may be placed by phone, fax, mail, or e-mail with a credit card number. An order form can be found on the back of any APS PRESS catalog or brochure sent by mail. Request a Catalog and an order form will be sent to you via mail.
Orders accompanied by a check or money order may be mailed to the APS PRESS Headquarters address above. Include Title, Item Number, and Shipping Address. Make checks payable to the American Phytopathological Society in U.S. funds through a member bank of the U.S. Federeal Reserve System.
Universities in the U.S.: Universities in the U.S. may be billed, We must receive a purchase order via fax or mail with Requestor's name and department, contact name and phone number. Orders from Universities placed on-line must be placed with credit card payment.
Proforma Invoices and Quotes: You can request a Proforma invoice or quote by contacting Customer Service.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping Methods are highlighted in bold. Read the following information about your delivery destination, and when filling out the on-line order form, choose the Shipping Method that applies. All shipping and Handling charges are calculated automatically on-line. Resellers and Bookstores need to call Customer Service for a shipping and handling quote.
United States: Most orders are sent via UPS Ground at a rate of $9 plus $1 per each title ordered. Orders sent to a PO Box, or to Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico will be sent via 4th Class Mail at the same rate. Expect 2 to 3 weeks for delivery in the United States. If you would like next day service please inquire for rates.
Canada and Mexico: Orders are sent via International Expedited Service at the rate of $10 per order plus $6 per pound. Expect approximately 2 to 4 weeks for delivery.
International: Orders are sent via International Expedited Service at the rate of $20 per order plus $6 per pound. Expect approximately 3 to 4 weeks for delivery.
Tax
Please read any tax information that may apply. Tax is calculated automatically on-line. If you are resident of one of these areas and are tax exempt, you may include your tax exempt number in the Comments section of the order form and APS PRESS will not charge tax when the credit card is charged (the tax calculation will remain in the subtotal on the on-line form, but will be subtracted when credit card is charged), or you may order by phone at 1.800.328.7560.
Minnesota Residents: A 6.875% sales tax will be added to all orders shipped to Minnesota.
Canadian Residents: A 5% GST/HST tax will be added to all orders shipped to Canada.
International: Any duties and taxes, where applicable, are the responsibility of the customer.
Discounts
All applicable discounts will not be calculated on-line, and will not be visible in the sales total of your order. All discounts will be taken at the time your credit card is charged.
APS Member Discount: APS Members receive a 10% discount on their order. If you are a current, paid APS Member, your discount will be applied after membership status is verified by APS PRESS headquarters. Please note that the discount will be taken off the subtotal, but will not be calculated on the on-line form. Discount will be applied when credit card is charged.
Reseller and Bookstore Discount: Resellers receive a 20% discount. Currently, reseller orders cannot be placed on-line. Contact Customer Service for Trade Terms and shipping charges.
Quantity Discount for Educators Ordering for Students:
APS educators qualify for a 20% discount off the list price on all in-stock titles used for teaching. To receive the discount, you must order direct from APS, specify the course name, and purchase a minimum quantity of ten copies of each title. Shipping is free and books are non-returnable. Not valid on orders placed through bookstores.
Free 60 Day Evaluation - Free Instructor Copy If You Adopt: APS educators may review books for consideration as course material. Examine them free for 60 days (U.S. only) with no obligation to purchase. To evaluate titles free of charge:
1. Use a university purchase order and write “60 day trial” next to the title you wish to examine. 2. You will receive the book along with an invoice. 3. If you choose to keep the book, but not adopt it for your class, simply pay the invoice. 4. If you choose to adopt the book for your class, keep the book with compliments of APS PRESS when you write “Complimentary Desk Copy” on your invoice and return it with a photocopy of your bookstore order or bookstore acquisition request for 10 or more copies of each book. 5. If you do not choose to adopt the book for your class and you do not wish to keep the book for your personal use, simply return it in re-saleable condition and your invoice will be cancelled.

If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 30 days with a copy of your receipt. You will receive a full refund.
